I'm having serious engine and driveline work done in the fall although just what remains undecided. The stock motor and blower are unexpectedly satisfying in city traffic. 330 rwhp @ 4700 rpm and 410 ft/lb of rwtq @ 4100. The choke point on this motor is the stock heads. At 5000+ rpm it is, simply, starved for air and fuel. A set of modern heads does wonders for these motors and 500+ rwhp is often claimed. However, reliability then becomes the issue.

The 285/40s on the back are very tall. There are no clearance issues on the side once you remove the quad shocks and move the tail pipes inward by 1" or so. But you will need to raise the rear end by 1" so that you don't get the wheel wells rubbing on the tires when going around corners.
