Brian's 1997 Saleen S351

Last fall I was able to buy a second Saleen mustang, a car which I had been looking for diligently over the past 5 years. I purchased a White 1997 Saleen S351 R-Code Speedster. The car has 10,500 miles on it, bumper #42, one of 19 S351 convertibles produced in 1997, and 1 of 124 S351 convertibles ever made.

The car has a Saleen modified Windsor 351 cubic inch (5.8 liter) V8 engine with forged pistons and high performance aluminum cylinder heads; Vortec 8 pound Supercharger; 510 horsepower; 495 pounds of torque @ 3500 rpm; Borg Warner 6 speed manual transmission; 3.55:1 rear end gears; 13 inch Saleen/Alcon front disc brakes; 10.5 inch Saleen/Alcon rear disc brakes; 18 inch Saleen Magnesium wheels; Michelin Pilot P265/35 ZR-18 front tires and P295/35 ZR-18 rear tires; Saleen Racecraft Suspension; Saleen / Borla custom exhaust; and Recaro leather seats. I can't believe that this car is in my garage ever time I open the door.

Since 2001 I have owned my other Saleen, a 1998 Rio Red S281 supercharged speedster, bumper #153 which is 1 of 91 S281 convertibles produced in 1998. The car now has 10,800 miles on it and it has been enjoyed on many bright sunny summer days at a number of car shows. The car is a blast to drive as it combines reliability, style, handling and a good kick of power. The car is 100% stock as it was produced with options for the Saleen Chrome wheels, the supercharger, and the speedster package.
